Tawney Lee's Maui Aqua Tips: "Just for Kicks - Lesson No.1"

Author: AmakuaVideo
Added: Tue, 25 Sep 2007 09:57:10 -0800
Duration: 161

"Get smart and use YOUR noodle!", says Tawney Lee, your personal water aerobics expert from Maui.

Tawney, founder of "Maui Aquafit", explains: "Often thought of being simply a colorful water toy, the versatile & affordable foam noodle can also become a safe and effective water exercise tool for toning and strengthening all major muscle groups.

The accessible & ever popular noodle can be purchased at any department & convenience stores for less than three dollars. Depending on an individual's comfort level and swimming ability, the noodle can be used efficiently on both shallow and deep water exercises for overall body conditioning. A 40-50 minute combination workout at least three days per week in shallow and/or deep water can produce noticable results.

The noodle, however, should never be used solely as floating device at any age! One should always be confident with their swimming ability before entering deep water.

Now enjoy the water, be safe & have fun in the sun - with ALOHA!

Sincerely Yours - Tawney Lee, Maui Aquafit"

PS: Here we an excerpt from our up-coming DVD called "Water Resistance Cross Training", with Tawney Lee as personal coach to Malika Dudley, former Miss Hawaii and now weekend weather anchor at KGMB9. This DVD will be available exclusively on our website: www.GetFitWithAloha.com

"President George W. Bush was treated for Lyme disease last August. (WASHINGTON, AP)

As the AP article explains:
"...Lyme disease is a tick-borne infection that, if left untreated, can cause arthritis and other problems. Symptoms can include lethargy,
joint pain, fever, limping and loss of appetite. A bacterial disease, it can be eradicated with antibiotic treatment in the early stages. It can recur in some patients, but Bush's doctors say
it hasn't with him.

White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said the treatment was not disclosed earlier because it happened after he had his last physical, on Aug. 1, 2006. He said doctors decided not to do blood tests to determine for certain that he had Lyme disease because the treatment worked and he never progressed to other symptoms."

May be even G.W. Bush can benefit from what Christine Cibula offers in her brand-new "Lyme Disease Rapid Response Protocol", a very affordable document for anyone - well - who cannot afford a "Presidential Medical Exam".

Is our President safe from Lyme Disease & possible co-infections at this point?

She and her team, teachers from the US and China, coach 30 high school kids from across the US to become proficient in Mandarin.

The program heavily relies on "sports", namely PING-PONG (if you don't know what that is, do you remember Forrest Gump?) and Martial Arts - and most of it is related to the kids in Chinese!

Today they went to Hanauma Bay on Oahu, mostly to relax and to see what Hawaii (for most people) is all about: the ocean! Here we follow them to the famous marine sanctuary, 10 miles East of Honolulu. Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Have you known that horses suffer a lot from excema and other skin problems? Have you known that ticks and other bugs can cause severe health problems among horses?

If so, most likely then you are a horse lover and know a lot more than I do (Thomas Gorgas, Amakua Video). But one thing I learnt recently is that horses need extra-protection for their sensitive skin.

This and two other short EQUINE-videos show what you can do with a high-performance fabric with unique properties due to a special nano-technology coating. Watch this video and learn more!

Have you known that horses suffer a lot from excema and other skin problems? Have you known that ticks and other bugs can cause severe health problems among horses? Can you imagine that horse backriders seriously "fry" their skin when they perform in their most favorite sport?

If so, most likely then you are a horse lover and know a lot more than I do (Thomas Gorgas, Amakua Video). But one thing I learnt recently is that both horses and horse backriders need extra-protection for their sensitive skin.

She acquired (undiagnosed) lyme disease from a tick bite during a camping adventure at the East Coast. A second tick bite in California during a hiking trip in 1999 was diagnosed, but maltreated for a crucial time period in the development of her Lyme Disease. Often heartbraking, she shares her personal fate, and what she eventually came up with to deal her ailments related to Lyme Disease to help other people to avoid what she has experienced over the years.

Find out more about her story at http://www.LivingWithLyme.com, and what she can offer YOU in case you were bitten by a tick - a main vector of Lyme Disease. Ticks and other venomenous insects are believed to become from here a much more common occurrence due to the effects of global climate change (watch "An Inconvenience Truth" by Al Gore in that respect).

Slow down, take a dive and enjoy some corals right off Culebra, Puerto Rico!

And as with all (remaining) corals around the world - remember - corals are living creatures, so please accept 3 tips to save the corals:
1) Don't step on them, don't touch them, and leave them simply alone while watching them underwater!
2) Use oxygenating, skin-penetrating sunscreens - not that slobbery stuff that washes off, and clogs not only your skin pores, but also contaminates the water.
3) Find out from experts what else to do and what not to do when visiting the home of the corals!

Goal was to find out where the manta rays live around the deep waters of Hawaii.

Once the tag was attached he could track the animals acoustically, and thereby study the paths and habitats of these elusive marine "black & white angels".

With a better understanding of their behavior, we can address concerns about the health of our oceans, and therefore protect not only the rays, but also their cohabitants.

Humankind forgets fast when it comes to disasters, and I have been truly impressed about your efforts to remind people (in your typical Gentleman’s way!) about the potential dangers from tsunamis.

I send you a video postcard with some excerpts from an A&E Show in 1999 that highlights tsunamis as a possible hazard to people around our beautiful beaches. In gratitude for your continuous work, wishing you a peaceful Holiday Season 2006 - Thomas
