Chicago stand-up comedy superfan Angelica Busque has been supporting shows for years, and, despite still being a twentysomething, is moving back home to Michigan to take care of the creeping effects of lupus, which has had a profound effect on her life. Angel's friends, spearheaded by Kristy Mangel, threw her a farewell show at the Lincoln Lodge on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Brendan McGowan, Bradley Fojas, Michael Lebovitz, Renee Gauthier, CJ Sullivan, Jason Fever ,Ricardo Carmona, Jared Logan, David Kovac, Cayne Collier, and Brian Potrafka all performed and paid tribute to a wonderful young woman who has contributed so much to Chicago's comedy scene with her enthusiasm and love. http://www.lupus.org

I was at the Cubs game today doing work related to the Chicago 2016 Olympic Committee. These guys were there playing some beautiful Dixieland, which made me happy and sad at the same time. My late Uncle Jim Snyder was widely regarded as the best Dixieland trombonist in the world, and he was a very sweet man. His sons and all the rest of his family miss him very much.
