The story takes place in the Carpathian forests during WWII (October 1944). A group of German soldiers gets lost after a severe fight and wanders through the deep mysterious forests. They come to a remote village in the middle of nowhere. The villagers live their peasant lives isolated from the horrors of the war. However there’s something even more horrific in the forests the villagers lived along with for centuries. The villagers are slaughtered by the German soldiers, just 10-year old Rebeka survives. Following the only witness of the execution the soldiers come to hostile marshes from where a mysterious and evil creature rules the lives of the villagers. Here, Rebeka’s final battle for freedom takes place.
