At approximately 2:30 PM Sunday, smoke and flames were observed near the river adjacent to the Riverside’s Arizona parking lots and camping area. Within minutes several acres had been consumed. Patrol boats quickly converged on the blaze, as Bullhead City Police Officers detained and handcuffed a male near the scene of the fire. Within minutes, units from the Bullhead City Fire Department arrived, and began an intensive effort to contain the blaze. Fire containment took fire units nearly an hour, which consumed several acres of brush, and threatened dozens of vehicles near the river. Officers removed the detainee from the area, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.

This is my first run with a Sony IC Recorder. This test/tutorial demonstrates that it IS possible to use a $99 voice recorder that records to MP3 format and use Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 Preferred (not the mobile version) to convert the MP3 voice file into text. So that means I had to spend a couple hours how to figure out something in IE7 that intuitively takes 2 seconds in Firefox. The program records what you said so that you can edit more effectively later. I put together a video demonstration of how you can take Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred 9 out of the box and get to 150 words per minute in about an hour. (Not counting installation time) Many people remember version 3 and 4 that took a week to train and still didn't work. See how this works after 1 hour. Half of that time is Dragon Naturally Speaking reviewing your emails and word files to develop a contextual understanding of how you write and put words together. This helps it to improve accuracy, and later improves that accuracy as you use the software in every day use.

Google has been penalizing internet Publishers for the last 2 months from small sites to large sites like Forbes.com Meanwhile they engage in the same advertising behavior that they are penalizing other publishers for. The EU is taking steps to look Closer at the Google Monopoly but not the US.

This is my first experiment running my laptop while I drive and writing through Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 Preferred. I didn't look at the computer while driving. I kept my eyes on the road and I used a hands free kit the entire time. This would be a great tool for mobile professionals or sales people that do a lot of driving that need to write emails on the road or capture written notes of their conversations.

The new MindManager Pro7 is out and it has the new Microsoft Office 2007 ribbon. That does make it easier to use in general, but for obscure but necessary functions, it is somewhat difficult to find your way, until you've learned the new trick.
