So began for Allanah the long, frightening and difficult journey to recovery. She endured an awful lot of discomfort in her battle to rid her body of cancer. And sadly her distress did not end when she was finally freed from the disease:

"You just think when you're a woman that once you decide to have children, it'll happen. That's how it's supposed to be. So when I found out that my cancer treatment had cost me my fertility, I was totally devastated. It just seemed so cruel and unfair - my heart was broken.

Repetition of sound echoes the repetitive nature of going to the office. You sense something is amiss in this office space. As you look at the window, you see time passing at an accelerated rate. You look back at the pictures; Something is different. You could swear the child was younger. You watch James work and read email, as he appears to be connected to his computer remotely. Suddenly you notice the other picture, and realize that the couple is now 15 years older. At that precise moment, you realize that time is passing in the room. James is watching life pass him by while he works his life away.

This is a live documentation of a 4 channel immersive video installation. The room was setup with LCD video screens built into picture frames, projections, and automated computer actions. The work was installed at the Ontario College of Art and Design in room 348 for the OCAD Hyperspace show.

** NOTE: This documentation was from the initial setup. The final installation featured a window frame around the timelapse "window".

The work is built using Flash and is running on an iMac with iSight. This documentation is from the OCAD Hyperspace show 2007.

Conflicted Love is a piece about the unnatural ebb and flow of volatile relationships. We have all experienced it at some point; we feel so passionately about someone that we want to be near them, yet when something goes wrong, we push them away, only to be inevitably drawn back to them once again. In the piece, a woman on the screen beckons you to get closer as you approach the screen. Once you are close, she angrily tells you to leave. As you are leaving, she apologetically asks you to come back, and when you return, she insists you leave again. You are caught in a loop, torn between love and hate.

The morph is made up of 3 green-screened photos of a couple. The couple was aged with makeup effects to appear younger (in their 20's) to older (in their 50's).
