Updated to show some new sections of trail, Nooner is just a little further up from 'Ledges'. In return for the extra pedalling, you will be rewarded with bridges, ladders, roll-overs, drops, jumps and logs. The Wakefield Trail is one of the main trails leading down from the Idaho Peak car Park. Starting at ~7000ft, the trail begins as tight single-track with steep exposure, opening up gradually to old mining roads and eventually fast fire-road to the town of Silverton, BC (~2500ft).

The 7-Summits trail offers over 30 kilometres of rolling single track with awesome mountain views, gruelling climbs and sweeeet descents. This 'trail vid' footage was taken during the 2007 'treasure hunt' event and was a great introduction to the trail, which can seem like it goes on and on and on.

Logjam winds it's way through some technical XC singletrack at the start, finishing with a sweet downhill section. Shout out to the Nelson Cycling Club for organising the trail maintenance crews, who did a great job of clearing up the whole trail and building some awesome bridges through the lower muddy sections, as you'll see in this trail-vid.

Sections of the Upper Nooner trail had been destroyed in a 2005 cut n’ burn operation, to promote the growth of pine in the area. However this did give us a number of possible routes down, lots of slabs and mixed technical difficulty. This video was shot 2-3 weeks after the burn, some of the snow was melting due to the heat from the smoldering ashes beneath. The 'trail' shown in this video no longer exists, however a new trail has recently (2007) been cleared, but has yet to be named.
