Gori's review of 'The Story of American Film Criticism'- a documentary packed with historic American film clips, but missing the 'internet revolution' entirely. By an old white man professor from the East Coast who aptly demonstrates the axiom: 'If you can't do, teach, if you can't teach, become a critic'. Gori's review of 'Soul Power'- a amazing documentary about a music festival by American & African musicians held in Zaire in 1974. Gori's review of 'New Muslim Cool'- a great documentary which is airing on PBS June 23rd (along with 'Mosque in Morgantown')- be sure to watch both! About a Puerto Rican ex-drug dealer/rapper/convert to Islam named Hamza Perez who is quite amazing..replete with more gori analysis/rant :P on the vagaries of fundamentalist Islam & its ever-present but entirely ignored misogyny, contrast the rousting support this film got to my 'Mosque in Morgantown' review.. Gori's review of 'Tulpan'- a great Kazakhstani film about sheep herders in yurts (lol) reminiscent of 'The Legend of the Weeping Camel'.. replete with a lot of cool animals (warning: bahut dhukh stillborn lambs :( + graphic human/lamb CPR -ewww) Ghetto Russian peeps were running around the screening, making hecka noise reminiscent of the Fremont Naz 8 so gori couldn't concentrate on yeh filim na? :P Gori risked getting swine flu in order to see these films so u know u gotta watch the reviews! About an American desi journalist named Asra Nomani asking for her fundamental right to not be discriminated against based on gender, aka to not be asked to go through the back door of her local mosque.. replete with more gori analysis of the vagaries of fundamentalist Islam, check out how this screening was made artificially empty by the hardcore jihadi hypocrites themselves! A must-see on PBS! Yeppers gori got 'food poisoning' (aka salmonella) the night of the Chinese New Year parade.. yuck! barf! (literally!) Was it the Ben & Jerry's milkshakes?
