A music video for the Subsonics -- it was our first for the band. We shot the video at a cool little club in East Atlanta called The Earl. It's a hip joint catering to all kinds of wacky gigs. Shane, one of the owners and also a guitarist in a band named Tiger-Tiger, was generous enough to let us carouse around and try to shoot a vid. It didn't hurt that the drummer for the Subsonics, Buffy Aguiro, also plays in Tiger-Tiger as singer/guitarist. The Subsonics have a distinct style and sound and have been playing the Atlanta area for about twelve years with quite a following. Think of Dick Dale crashing into Lou Reed as Bob Dylan and Duane Eddy try and put the fire out only to have the flames go higher and higher and... I got carried away. They have a larger following abroad as well, especially the Netherlands and Spain. These cats should be famous by now -- but hey, the day's still young. Check'em out. If you're ever in the ATL check the place out and look for the Subsonics.

This was a little ditty we did just for the helluva of it. We had just gotten our hands on the Panasonic HVX 200 and wanted to see what it could do. My editor friend Bart Hawkins was in town for a couple of days so we decided to have some fun and see how fast we could together a spot. Hey, there's a couple of typos, some rough edges here and there but it ain't that bad -- not for a total of 9 hours. The camera rocks -- especially with some additional gear.
