In the middle we chose to feature 5 regional/traditional African Dances. African rhythms are the "birth parents" of Mambo/Salsa, "The pulse" behind the Brazilian Samba, "The heart" behind Capoeira and the foundation of modern Soul, Hip Hop and R&B. So I found it only fiiting to bring in my love of this movement and sound, within the context of this song.

I am deeply moved by the artistry, costumes & rhythms of the world, & believe we are part of a human tapestry whose threads are woven into my music and being. As la long time fan of Deep Forest and the profoundly moving work they do, capturing the beautiful sounds and songs of indigenous people all over the world, I felt that the only way to honor this beautiful piece of music was to stage and "choreograph" a gathering of "humanity" on stage. The dove is of course symbolic of peace, eminating from my heart and the flags which unite us all are the prayer flags that carry messages of peace and hope "into the wind"

The beauty & grace of Bellydance fused with the passion & fire of Flamenco. Two beautiful cultures embodied in my music! In Flamenco we play the castanets and in middle eastern Bellydance the zills, very similiar percussive instruments. The arm movements or "braceos" and the hand posturing of Flamenco is likewise very similiar to bellydance as they greatly influenced eachother. These two dances are fundamentally joined at their core and "heart" like a perfect marriage and I enthusiastically continue to study both!
