This movie was shot almost a year ago and we even had to skip a major scene. There was a scene in a dreamlike state that had to be cut.

All in all, it was a very fun project to make even though it is so short.

The project ended up costing around $120. It was filmed at 720 by 480 resolution on a Cannon XL2.

And by the way, it is a Panda he pulls up. And Sean is both the man with the newspaper and the one doing the "magic trick".

I don't think this is my best, but it has good transitions with the dialogue. But at least it killed some time.

It was edited with Pinnacle Studios 8 which was really tough to get some of the dissolve effects to work right.

There is a ton of symbolism I put into this short too. In his mind is a world of blue and he is trapped (alleyways). He carries the burden of other people's sorrow hence the bag and rock. All of this drove him down a self destructive path with the razors. And finally, he realizes he doesn't have to stay there. He drops the bag and escapes into his new life.

A little bit "emo" but I still had lots of fun making this short.

Thus why it is so short. I wanted to make a movie in which I could do unconventional camera movements. Really fast zooms and pans. To do this I turned from video and went to photography. This short is comprised of about 20 photos and then carefully photoshopped to make them all come together. In the end, it may have been more work than it was worth (about 10 hours of work for 1 and 1/2 minutes of movie) but this was a lot of fun and I will incorporate this technique in my future films.

We used a Canon SLR camera for all of the pictures and Adobe Photoshop CS3 to cut everything out. Then used Adobe Premiere CS3 to edit it all together. The beginning intro was created in Adobe After Effects.

It was just me and Oliver. I wrote up a story one night about suicide, and he liked it. This short film is about his journey learning why life is worth living. This movie is my atempt to make "art", for film is my canvas, the lens is my brush, and the footage is my paint.
This short film really doesn't have a story. Its mainly images and sounds thrown at audience, whe can then pick up their own story, moral, and/or meaning from it.

This short film was filmed in one day which took about four and a half hours. The editing took about a good seven hours.

The ghost effect was done by overlapping two layers of video and then making one of them transparent.
