Surprise Makeover

Author: michaelpollick
Added: Thu, 10 May 2007 14:43:09 -0800
Duration: 87

This piece was inspired by a daytime talkshow a few years ago. The theme of that episode was "Surprise Makeovers", and all of the guests were either battered women or prostitutes. I found it strange that the show's producers and hosts did not show much interest in the women's personal experiences as much as they were about sensationalizing the makeovers themselves.

This poem is part of my Jerusalem Engine Repair Company collection now available online.
