Every evening people come out to watch the sunset on the West coast. The West coast of Florida that is. One such place is the South Jetty Park in Venice Florida. Using video compression to produce a timelapse effect shows how the crowd comes out and goes back in like the waves them selves. The was supposed to be a precursor to a video project I was working on called "101 Sunsets". But after doing this video I ran into a compression realization. Vegas 7.0 only lets you 'slip' compress video (ctr-click one edge of the video envelope and slide) to 25% of original. You then can further compress by inserting a velocity envelope into that video event (in this case a sunset) reducing time even a further 66%. And that is it. So most of my sunsets have been 6 minutes of video. 101 sunsets will be rather long, so we'll see.
