I doubt the people in Alanreed even knew what was going on.  I don't see this often, but occasionally thunderstorm clouds will produce these funnels high up in the cloud.  I think they are called "cold air" funnels.  I can usually tell within ten minutes of watching a storm cloud if it is capable of producing these.  The whole cloud has spinning vortices in it and it is fun to watch.</p>]]></description>

I usually prefer getting behind a storm and chasing it, but this storm ended up chasing me.  I would videotape and run...videotape and run.  I heard on the radio, are you ready for this?  Volleyball size hail!  No way was I going to get caught in this storm so it ended up chasing me for 65 miles before I could find a way through it with out getting hurt.  When I got back to Amarillo, I saw car lots, and cars at the mall that had been absolutely destroyed by the hail of this storm.  It was unbelievable!</p>]]></description>
