After plenty of wine we decide to all tell jokes (your unfunny narrator excepted) in Turkish apparently. "Fistek" by the way, means peanut in Turkish and is also a slightly derogatory term for a lady of the night.

Bit of an inside joke... and maybe only one that's funny after drinking a large jug of wine...

One of the final festivals (well after the new moon) is the Lantern Festival. I walked across a bridge with turns in it because bad spirits only travel in a straight line and can't go over water (or, maybe this only protects me from the stupid ones). Just earlier I passed a money tree... apparently if you throw old Chinese coins (each costing 1 kwai) in the tree you get good luck, or you get your wish granted, or you don't get coal in your stocking or something to tell you the truth I wasn't really paying attention but the gist of it seems to be good, you know?

People were having fun and making money, so who can complain!?!?!?
