Line Rider was a huge Internet phenomenon, and now it's come to your iPhone. With Line Rider iRide, you draw a track using a simple pencil tool and then get to watch Bosh, an endearing animated character, ride his sled on the track you've created. Get creative with jumps, loops, ramps, and other twists along Bosh's path to give him the best ride possible. With recent updates, now you can show your work to the world with track sharing, which allows you to make your favorite tracks available to other iPhone users and lets you download tracks created by other users. You can browse the user created content by searching through the most recent and top rated tracks, or search by track author or track name to find your friend's best work. Line Rider is a lot of fun, but with a $2.99 download cost, this is a very limited app that might be slightly overpriced. ...

The popular character returns in “Crash Bandicoot: Nitro Kart 3D,” which lets you take on 8 zany opponents on madcap races through 12 twisting tracks. If you're falling behind or trying to stay ahead of the pack, use one of eight crazy weapons to give yourself an edge.
There are a few decent bowling games available for your iPhone at the App Store, but the best one by far is Flick Bowling. With fun and easy touch screen gameplay, great 3D graphics, and six characters to choose from, Flick Bowling is a strike right down the middle. The update to version 1.2, free to players who have already downloaded the game, features more realistic physics for the bowling pins, user achievements, customizable bowling balls, and improved art. With a reduced price of 99 cents from its $4.99, Flick Bowling is a steal. The iphone 3G even sounds better, providing clearer call quality than the original iPhone, on both 3G and GSM mode. The physical design of the phone has improved as well, with the headphone jack now flush with the device instead of being recessed as it is on the first iPhone. This is a big deal, because it means you can use any pair of standard headphones to listen to your tunes without an adapter, as opposed to the first iPhone, which required you to use Apple's specially designed ear bud ...

Version 2 sports many of the features sorely missing from the original, including address book lookup, the ability to photo post on friend's walls and view their entire profiles instead of limited versions, photo tags which you can view when you touch the screen, people search, friend requests, your full inbox, and inbox search. Facebook Chat and photo uploading work faster and more smoothly, and you can upload photos from your iPhone library for the first time. With version 2, Facebook has finally come to the iPhone in a big way, making it possible to stay on top of the status updates of all your friends, no matter where you are. We've been taking a look at the most popular downloads from the iPhone App store, and some of these applications are more gimmicky than others. Take, for example, the inexplicably popular “Koi Pond” app... it's a pretty app that turns your iPhone screen into a serene pond which beautiful Koi fish swim around in. The iPhone's touchscreen technology allows you to run your hands through the surface of the water and cause the fish to scatter, or just stare at them blankly as they swim around your screen. The app is designed to relax you after a stressful day at work, and it's undeniably pretty to look at. But is it worth the money? “Koi Pond” is only 99 cents, but even at less than a dollar, it might be too much for an app you'll probably get bored with within a half hour of downloading it. Unlike the iPhone, the Instinct does offer a video camera, though picture quality for motion and still photography is nothing to write home about. Touch typing works the same way as the iPhone does, and the music ...

We're going to take a look at some of the top selling paid downloads from the app store and tell you if you really need them on your iPhone or not. This past week's most downloaded paid app was “Pocket Guitar,” which, as the name implies, turns your iPhone into a mini guitar. The app works like a real guitar... press or strum strings to play some rocking tunes, and you can set the program to play in acoustic, electric, muted, classical, electric bass or even Ukulele modes. The app also allows you to add effects like distortion, chorus, and delay, and at just 99 cents, this fun and independently created app for musicians is a steal. So I say, rock on with “Pocket Guitar.” I'm Marc Gittleman from Hard Drive 911 for TekieTV.Com. Keep watching for answers and updates on all your science and technology needs.
